Dr Alison Morehead
Deputy - Strategy

Dr Alison Morehead is the Deputy - Strategy at the National Mental Health Commission. Prior to this she was First Assistant Secretary of the Primary Care and Mental Health Division in the federal Department of Health. In 2018 she worked in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet as part of an Ageing Policy Taskforce. She was previously First Assistant Secretary of the Workplace Relations Policy Group in the Department of Jobs and Small Business and has worked mainly in social and economic policy areas at the federal level in the Australian public service. She has worked for the Australian Council of Social Service in Sydney, and for the International Labour Office in Geneva. She was also Deputy Director of the Australian Institute of Family Studies in Melbourne. Alison received her PhD from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Sydney in 2003.
