Lisa Sweeney
Senior Policy Adviser with the Victorian Public Service in National Health Reform

From a young age, Lisa has had personal experience supporting two family members with a lived experience of mental illness. This insight into public mental health led her to follow educational and vocational pursuits in public policy and health, with the aim of improving mental health services and promoting holistic care pathways.
Lisa works with the Victorian Public Service as a Senior Policy Adviser in the area of National Health Reform, and also as a naturopath focusing on adjunctive mental health. She is involved in a number of mental health causes including the Board of Tandem and Australians for Mental Health.
Lisa shares her work as a mental health carer through writing, and has published blog pieces in forums such as The Huffington Post. Her key areas of interest include psychosis, supporting young consumers and carers, and holistic and integrated mental healthcare (including promoting treatment choices). She is hoping to build leadership capability and confidence to support her advocacy journey.
