Ms Jennifer Muir
Principal Adviser, Communication and Engagement
Ms Jennifer Muir is the Principal Adviser, Communication and Engagement at the Commission, joining in July 2020. Prior to this she was Chief Counsel at Primary Communication (2007-2020) leading national strategic communication and engagement programs and campaigns, and providing strategic advice to non-government, commercial, industry and community groups on complex social issue policy reform and investment. She has played a leading role in strengthening Australia’s use of evidence-based promotion of mental health through strategic communication on behalf of many mental health organisations in Australia, and is a strong advocate for the inclusion of lived experience voices in a safe and impactful manner.
She has been a member of the communication, journalism and public relations industry advisory groups for the Australia’s globally regarded Mindframe programs from 2008-2020. She was the National President and Board member of the Public Relations Institute of Australia from 2016-2018. Jennifer has provided advice and developed communication programs for international NGOs and organisations leading community engagement in conflict zones globally, and has worked as a communication professional and in news media since 1993 in Australia and regionally. Jennifer is a Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Australia.
