Trina Cummins
Director of Counselling at Immanuel College

Trina is the inaugural Director of Counselling at Immanuel College, Adelaide SA, where she oversees and provides counselling and mental health services across the school. She has more than 21 years’ experience in leading and managing various counselling, wellbeing and mental health programs across different school sectors (government and independent) in America and Australia. With degrees in psychology and education, Trina has worked as a licensed counsellor, behaviour/learning specialist, teacher and speaker/trainer.
Trina served as a founding member on the Community Advisory Committee for the South Australian Mental Health Commission and is a member of the Education Committee for Concordia College. Trina was elected founding Chair of the South Australian Positive Education Schools Association Chapter and was a member of the Wellbeing & Prevention Group to assist the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist (Health Department) and South Australian Mental Health Commission to write the South Australian Mental Health Service Plan.
Trina is a doctoral candidate at the University of Adelaide with her PhD research investigating mental health services in education to enhance student wellbeing and academic outcomes.
Trina’s aspiration for the Fellowship is to combine her passion for mental health with her leadership skills. Trina will focus on making a difference in the education system where children's wellbeing and mental health are supported, enabling them to flourish.
