Cameron Grant
Former soldier and Lifeline volunteer, current psychology student, gardening enthusiast and Acting Team Leader/Peer worker at ‘Lived Experience Telephone Support Service’

Cameron is deeply passionate about suicide prevention and dismantling stigma surrounding mental illness. The suicide of a friend and fellow soldier during his Army service ignited a new career direction into mental health. Cameron is now in his third year of a Bachelor of Psychology Honours at Flinders University and is currently working as acting Team Leader/Peer Worker at the Lived Experience Telephone Support Service, where he supervises and mentors peer workers, assesses client needs and drafts call manuals and training/support resources from scratch. Cameron also volunteered at Lifeline where he provided support to people in acute crisis situations. Cameron hopes the Fellowship will equip him with the knowledge, skills and tools to lead and empower people in his community to develop capabilities that allow them to take charge of their mental health and to identify ways in which he can make real difference in the mental health sector.
