Michelle Lawrence
Aboriginal Clinical Leader Northern Sydney Local Health District

Michelle’s passion is advocating for better health outcomes. Her mental health career began in the prison system and forensic mental system where she observed that the mental health system is fragmented, working in silos. Michelle’s goal is to create a culturally responsive workforce where staff are able to provide holistic care that takes into account trauma informed care and provides holistic care that includes traditional and western medicine combined. Michelle hopes through the leadership program to work with others and gain understanding on how to support the system and the consumers who utilise it. Michelle want to create a system where people want to seek support without fear of repercussion. It is her hope that mental health and well-being become as important as physical health.
