Dean Jackson
Health and Safety Manager Improvement and Assurance within the construction industry

Dean has worked in the construction industry as a Health, Safety and Environment professional for the last 14 years. Dean has and continues to study human judgement and decision making to better understand motivation and the influence and impacts of social arrangements on people. As a consumer of mental health services, Dean has been able to share his experience and information to demystify, support and promote discussion about mental health with the aim of contributing to reducing industry risk factors that are higher than the national average for mental ill health. Through the Fellowship, Dean hopes to learn more effective ways to lessen the stigma and build people’s confidence in talking about and listening to mental health issues and concerns, and not shying away from a swift and appropriate response. He hopes to further develop his skills and meet likeminded people to work with to help people live their best lives.
