Toni Wamukoya
A passionate mental health worker and advocate

Toni currently works for the Mental Health Association of Central Australia, Alice Springs. Her passion and interest for mental health stems from personal experiences, work and voluntary roles. Toni’s interests are primarily within the contexts of domestic, family and sexual violence and minority groups such as immigrants and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. In 2013 and 2014, Toni was appointed as a YMCA Youth Parliamentarian in the Parliament of Western Australia where she advocated for reforms in mental health policy that addressed better ways of delivering appropriate mental health services to African and Indigenous youths. In 2015, Toni worked with Save The Children Youth Leadership Roundtable within the South East Corridor Youth Partnership Project (YPP) in Western Australia to provide strategic direction, advice and support to the YPP, to implement youth activities and to advocate for better mental health and drug and alcohol services within the South East corridor of Perth.
